Summary

Case Material

In the previous parts we have used several examples from the projects we have supervised to illustrate the use of the design-oriented and theory-informed methodology to solve field problems. In this final part – in one chapter – we give four additional field problem solving cases from our portfolio (with fictitious names) in the form of a number of interviews. These interviews were held during the orientation stage of the FPS project with important stakeholders in the field problem to be addressed by the student. These interviews illustrate the diversity of views that students typically have to make sense of in the early phases of a problem solving project. They give something of the flavour of student FPS projects and can be used for classroom exercises, in particular in drawing up a project proposal.
