New breeding methods have provided scientists with opportunities to improve traits in a wide range of crops, however, there remains resistance to foods that are produced from these crops, and mandates on labels used to describe such processes continue to be a source of policy debate. Here we focus on gene editing and examine (i) whether consumer acceptance varies when the technology is applied to different ingredients (unrefined versus highly refined ingredients) and (ii) the impact of two different claims related to gene editing (health-focused claim versus an environment-focused claim). Our results show that consumers are less likely to purchase a food product that includes gene-edited ingredients, yet the ingredient that is gene-edited is not important. We also find evidence that both of our selected claims about foods produced using gene-edited ingredients would increase consumers’ likelihood to purchase relative to the case with no claims.

Aims
Difficulties in parent-child interaction are easily observed and are a potential target for early intervention. This study aimed to assess the utility of observation of parent-child interaction in the first year of life in identifying children at risk of developing later psychopathology, using a rigorous systematic review method.
MethodEMBASE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, MIDIRS, MEDLINE and Cochrane Library databases were searched using MeSH terms and keywords, and reference lists screened. Two authors independently reviewed papers for inclusion and completed data extraction. All peer reviewed papers studying the association between an independent observation of parent-child interaction and later childhood psychopathology in community-based samples were included. Studies based on ‘high risk’ samples (studies exclusively examining cohorts with a sibling or parent with a mental illness or studies of low birth weight or premature infants and those with other physical comorbidities) were excluded. Results were synthesised qualitatively due to high heterogeneity.
Result18,226 papers were identified, nine were included in this study. Childhood psychopathology was associated with fewer positive parent-infant interactions, lower parent vocalisation frequency and lower levels of adult speech and activity. Maternal sensitivity was inversely related to separation anxiety and oppositional defiant/conduct disorders were associated with lower shared look rates. Disruptive behaviour disorders were associated with higher frequency of child vocalisation. Pervasive developmental disorders were associated with ‘abnormal’ maternal infant interactions, as assessed by community health nurses using a standardised measure.
ConclusionIncluded studies reported small samples, and several of these samples overlapped. Some studies were of poor quality, but were included due to a paucity of available data. The findings may therefore have limited generalisability. Difficulties in parent-child interaction are easily observed and assessments could be made by non-specialists such as health visitors or general practitioners. Such difficulties may be an early indicator of later childhood psychopathology. Childhood psychiatric diagnoses (with the exception of Autistic Spectrum Disorders) appear associated with level of maternal activity (vocalisation, physical activity, positive parenting and shared attention). Assessments may identify at-risk families for early intervention, but further work is required to develop and validate reliable methods for risk stratification in community-based practice.

The Victorian Government, Australia, committed to deliver recommendations from a review of the Program for Students with Disabilities. We report on the implementation of Recommendation 7: to explore options for how special schools could become ‘centres of expertise’ to support inclusion in mainstream schools. Informed by evidence reviews of inclusive education practices and interviews of special and mainstream staff and parents, stakeholders were engaged in a forum to develop a range of options. A larger sample of stakeholders then completed a survey to evaluate them. Forum attendees were parents, education staff, and allied health professionals from special and mainstream schools. They worked in small groups to develop options, which were later grouped into 5 categories. These options were entered into an online survey for distribution to a wider group of stakeholders. Survey respondents were 142 stakeholders from special (71%) and mainstream primary and secondary schools (parents, education staff, and allied health professionals). They rated each option, such that 8 with high ratings for feasibility and acceptability were recommended to support inclusive mainstream education through utilisation of special school expertise. The final list of options focused on collaboration, development, and coordination of networks of special and mainstream schools, and building capacity and leadership to support mainstream schools to meet diverse student need.

Summary
Introduction
Over the past ten years, the spread and diversity of digital libraries has increased enormously. Not only are ‘traditional’ libraries extending the scope of their activities by creating digital libraries of one kind or another, but learned societies, interest groups and other organizations are creating digital libraries of specialized scope to serve the information needs of their intended user groups and of the public at large.
The purpose of this chapter is to provide an overview of current trends in research on the interaction between users and digital libraries, to reveal the main results of that research and to explore the applicability of existing models of information behaviour to the digital library sphere. Generally, we have not sought to limit our definition of the digital library to a particular form, but have accepted what is described in the retrieved literature as a digital library. However, from the perspective of the information user, it seems reasonable to question why the term ‘library’ is used in this context.
Methods and scope of this study
If we perceive a library as nothing more than a room with books, then, by analogy, a file of electronic documents can be described as a ‘digital library’. The modern library, however, is much more than a room with books; it has associated services of various kinds, from reference services to interlibrary lending, and services directed to particular groups such as, in the public library sector, children's libraries and business libraries. Traditionally, special libraries in industry and beyond have offered translation and current-awareness services. Our proposition, therefore, is that the richer the array of services offered in the digital sphere, the more like a bricks-and-mortar library the digital library will be, and the richer the user experience of the library. The poorer the digital library is in these terms, the more like a repository or an archive it will be. One of the papers retrieved by the authors highlighted the difference between web archives and digital libraries, which provide more structured collections and enable the use of metadata, controlled vocabularies and authority files in the execution of searches.
