Optical tracking systems typically trade off between astrometric precision and field of view. In this work, we showcase a networked approach to optical tracking using very wide field-of-view imagers that have relatively low astrometric precision on the scheduled OSIRIS-REx slingshot manoeuvre around Earth on 22 Sep 2017. As part of a trajectory designed to get OSIRIS-REx to NEO 101955 Bennu, this flyby event was viewed from 13 remote sensors spread across Australia and New Zealand to promote triangulatable observations. Each observatory in this portable network was constructed to be as lightweight and portable as possible, with hardware based off the successful design of the Desert Fireball Network. Over a 4-h collection window, we gathered 15 439 images of the night sky in the predicted direction of the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft. Using a specially developed streak detection and orbit determination data pipeline, we detected 2 090 line-of-sight observations. Our fitted orbit was determined to be within about 10 km of orbital telemetry along the observed 109 262 km length of OSIRIS-REx trajectory, and thus demonstrating the impressive capability of a networked approach to Space Surveillance and Tracking.

Introduction:
Routine microscopic karyotyping is an important part of the diagnostic work-up in patients with multiple congenital anomalies (MCA) and/or intellectual disability (ID), allowing for the detection of microscopically visible chromosome aberrations. Smaller but clinically relevant deletions and duplications, however, remain unnoticed. Therefore high-resolution genome-wide technologies such as genomic microarrays are needed.
Objectives:To improve the genotype-phenotype relationship.
Aims:To elucidate causative copy number variations with microarray techniques.
Methods:The implementation of microarray technologiesed as a routine diagnostic setting to detect causative copy number variations (CNV) in MCA and/or ID patients.
Results:Patients with a chromosome aberration usually do not only display developmental delay, but can have behavioral disorders as well, like in the well-known microdeletion syndromes Velo-Cardio-Facial syndrome (22q11.2 deletion) and Smith-Magenis syndrome (17p11.2 deletion). New microdeletion and -duplication syndromes are frequently discovered with the implementation of new techniques and sometimes psychiatric problems are part of the phenotype too, including for example the 15q13.3 deletion and 16p11.2 deletion syndrome. A complicating factor in determining the phenotype however, is that these CNVs are detected as a de novo finding in children with autism spectrum disorders or schizophrenia, yet also in normal parents without a psychiatric disorder.
Conclusions:Improvement in molecular genetic techniques has resulted in promising results, in that the chance to find a causative etiology has increased from 5% to 15–20%. Collaborative and careful genotype-phenotype studies in these rare chromosome aberrations are needed to come to a good quality definition of the phenotypic spectrum, including psychiatric disorders.

Highly accreting quasars are possible cosmological probes, as their Eddington ratio is expected to saturate toward values of order unity. We present preliminary estimates of redshift- independent source luminosities and the Hubble diagram for quasars in the redshift range 0.1 ≲ z ≲ 2.6.

Here we present the evidence for periodicity of an optical emission detected in several AGN. Significant periodicity is found in light curves and radial velocity curves. We discuss possible mechanisms that could produce such periodic variability and their implications. The results are consistent with possible detection of the orbital motion in proximity of the AGN central supermassive black holes.

We analyzed the light curves (LCs) of several radio-quiet and radio-loud quasars belonging to the same parameter space volume in the 4D Eigenvector 1 (4DE1) quasar sequence, using data from the Catalina Real-time Transient Survey (CRTS). We report preliminary results on detected variability pattern, and discuss possible cases of periodic variability.

It is unclear whether the concepts and findings of the underlying neurobiology of adult psychopathy apply to youths as well. If so, a life span approach to treatment should be taken. Because youths’ brains are still developing, interventions at an early age may be far more effective in the long run. The aim of this systematic review is to examine whether the neurocognitive and neurobiological factors that underlie juvenile psychopathy, and specifically callous–unemotional (CU) traits, are similar to those underlying adult psychopathy. The results show that youths with CU traits show lower levels of prosocial reasoning, lower emotional responsivity, and decreased harm avoidance. Brain imaging studies in youths with CU traits are still rare. Available studies suggest specific neural correlates, such as a reduced response of the amygdala and a weaker functional connectivity between the amygdala and the ventromedial prefrontal cortex. These findings are largely in line with existing theories of adult psychopathy, such as the dual-hormone serotonergic hypothesis and the integrated emotions systems theory. We recommend that future studies investigate the role of oxytocin, invest in the study of neural mechanisms, and study the precursors, risk factors, and correlates of CU traits in early infancy and in longitudinal designs.

This article examines the reliability and validity of the construct, mode of acquisition (MOA). The MOA of a word denotes the way in which the word's meaning is learned. A word's meaning can be acquired perceptually, linguistically, or by some combination of both. In Experiment 1, 26 student volunteers from third year special education courses rated 566 words, taken from reading texts in elementary school, on MOA. Our findings show that MOA ratings gradually change over grades, shifting from mainly perceptually acquired word meanings in Grade 1 texts to mainly linguistically acquired concepts in Grade 6 texts. In Experiment 2, 34 educational professionals completed a list on MOA, concreteness, or imageability. Judgments on the MOA proved to be different from judgments of concreteness and imageability. We suggest that the increasingly linguistic character of word meanings contribute to explaining some of the reading difficulties of deaf children.
