Introduction
Psychotic disorders have a huge impact on social functioning, which is the ability to stablish and maintain social activities such as interpersonal relationships and self-care activities of daily living. Research data support that the early intervention in people who have experienced a first episode of psychosis (FEP) -based on a multidisciplinary treatment including both psychopharmacological and psychosocial treatments-, has a relevant role in a favorable evolution. AGES-Mind study is based on manualized psychotherapeutic interventions for people with first-psychosis episodes.
ObjectivesTo describe the use of rehabilitation resources and social functioning in a group of people with FEP who were included in a psychotherapeutic group program versus a control group, at 12 and 24 months since the beginning of the intervention.
MethodsLongitudinal, analytical, observational, retrospective study on a cohort of 46 patients with first-episode psychosis within the last 5 years. 23 patients received group psychotherapy in the context of the AGES-Mind study and they were compared with 23 control patients who did not receive a group intervention (treatment as usual). Controls were matched by age, gender and time elapsed since the first episode of psychosis with those exposed to the intervention. Sociodemographic data, social functioning (self-care, social activities, social relationships, and behavior) and use of rehabilitation resources outcome variables were assessed.
ResultsSignificant differences were found regarding participation in social activities in the intervention group versus control group at 24 months. No significant differences were found in other dimensions of social functioning or in the use of rehabilitation resources.

ConclusionsFurther studies with larger sample sizes are needed in order to determine if the participation in group therapy leads to an improvement in social functioning and use of rehabilitation resources for people who have experienced a first episode of psychosis.

Clinical stability after compassionate use of intranasal esketamine in treatment-resistant depression

Introduction
The compassionate use of intranasal esketamine is approved in Spain for treatment-resistant depression (TRD).
ObjectivesThe objective of the study is to assess the clinical stability in the medium-term follow-up of patients with TRD after esketamine use.
MethodsDescriptive, retrospective and multicenter study carried out in Spain. Patients with TRD who had received esketamine treatment, and for whom there were clinical data of subsequent evolution, were included. The scores on the MADRS and Hamilton scales were changed into scores on the CGI scale according to the studies by Leucht et al. The Student’s t test was performed to assess differences in the CGI.
ResultsEleven patients were included: 72.7% were women and the mean age was 56 (SD: 12.9). The maximum dose of esketamine used was 84mg in 63.7%. The onset of antidepressant action was observed from the 1st dose in 72.6% of the patients. The mean time in treatment was 6.6 months (SD: 2.3) and 90.9% reached remission criteria. After 7.4 months (SD: 3.0) from the end of the treatment, 90.9% remained in remission and without visits to the emergency room or hospitalization for psychiatric reasons. The mean baseline score on the CGI-SI was 5.7 points, at the end of the treatment was 1.2 points and after longitudinal follow-up it was 1. Statistically significant differences were observed (p<0.001) both at the end of the treatment and in the post-esketamine follow-up compared with baseline score.
ConclusionsIn our sample, the use of esketamine in TRD shows clinical stability in the medium-term follow-up.

Introduction
Endocannabinoid system has been highlighted as one of the most relevant research topics by neurobiologists, pharmacists, basic scientists and clinicians. The association between endocannabinoids and its congeners and mood disorders is relatively recent. However, evidence from both clinical and preclinical studies is increasing and many researchers point out endocannabinoid system and particularly endocannabinoids and congeners as promising pharmacological targets.
Aims and objectivesThe main objective of this study is to compare the plasma concentrations of endocannabinoids and congeners between a sample of patients with depression and a sample of control subjects, and the influence of variables such as age, body mass index, gender, severity of symptoms, and antidepressant medication.
MethodPlasma concentrations of endocannabinoids and congeners will be analyzed in 69 patients with depression from primary care and 47 controls using mass spectrometry analysis.
ResultsStatistically significant differences in 2-arachidonoylglycerol and monoacylglycerols were found between both samples. Somatic symptoms of depression seems to be more related to these compounds that to cognitive-affective symptoms. In addition, differences between mildly and moderately depressed patients were found in concentrations of AEA, LEA, DGLEA and POEA. Patients with antidepressant medication showed higher levels of 2-AG, DGLEA and OEA.
ConclusionsThe results of this study provide evidence supporting the hypothesis that in depression there is a dysregulation of the inflammatory signaling and, consequently the immune system. The results of this study could also support the realization of translational research to better understand the mechanisms of this widely distributed system.

Introduction
Endocannabinoid System (ECS) has been highlighted as one of the most relevant research topics by neurobiologists, pharmacists, basic scientists and clinicians (Skaper and Di Marzo, 2012). Recent work has associated major depressive disorder with the ECS (Ashton and Moore, 2011). Despite the close relationship between depression and bipolar disorders, as far as we know, there is no characterization of ECS and congeners in a sample of patients with bipolar disorders.
Aims and objectivesThe objective of this work is to characterize the plasma levels of endocannabinoids and congeners in a sample of patients with bipolar disorders.
MethodThe clinical group was composed by 19 patients with a diagnosis of bipolar disorders using SCID-IV (First et al., 1999). The control group was formed by 18 relatives of first- or second-degree of the patients.
The following endocannabinoids and congeners were quantified: N-palmitoleoylethanolamide (POEA), N-palmitolylethanolamide (PEA), N-oleoylethanolamide (OEA), N-stearoylethanolamide (SEA), N-arachidonoylethanolamide (AEA), N-dihomo-γ-linolenoylethanolamide (DGLEA), N-docosatetraenoylethanolamide (DEA), N-linoleoylethanolamide (LEA), N-docosahexaenoylethanolamide (DHEA), 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), 2-linoleoylglycerol (2-LG), and 2-oleoylglycerol (2-OG).
ResultsThe result showed statistically significant lower levels of AEA, DEA and DHEA in clinical sample. Previous research also identified lower levels of AEA in depressed women (Hill et al., 2008, 2009). Until date, it is unknown if DEA and DHEA have some effect on EC receptors, and whether they have some direct effects on endocannabinoids.
ConclusionsIt would be necessary to carry our other research with a larger sample, which could allow the control of potential confounding variables.

The increasing demand of sources of energy such as oil and natural gas induces at the steel industry a development on low carbon microalloyed steels for pipeline applications in order to achieve excellent mechanical properties of strength and toughness at a reduced cost. To obtain an adequate fine-grained final structure, the strict control of thermomechanical processing and accelerated cooling is crucial. Depending on the thermomechanical processing conditions and chemical composition, pipeline steels can present different microstructures. Several authors have found that the microstructure of acicular ferrite usually provides an optimum combination of mechanical properties. Higher levels of austenite strengthening before cooling promote a refinement of final microstructure but can also restrict the fraction of low temperature transformation products such as acicular ferrite.

The gastric mill on the genus Cyrtograpsus (Varunidae) has not been described previously. A morphological comparative study of the gastric mill ossicles within its species (C. angulatus, C. altimanus and C. affinis) was carried out. This research attempts to give new evidence to validate the existence of these three species and to serve as a guide to identify them. Urocardiac (dorsal median tooth shape), zygocardiac (shape and number of ridges and molar processes—cusps and plates—and their arrangement in the lateral teeth) and pectineal (number and shape of accessory teeth) ossicles, and cardiopyloric valve descriptions and comparisons are based on microscopical, stereomicroscopical, scanning electron microscope observations, and digital images. Morphological differences found in zygocardiac (lateral teeth) and urocardiac (dorsal-median tooth) ossicles allow to identify species. Considering these ossicles morphology in C. altimanus and C. affinis it can be concluded that the studied specimens belong to a single species as stated in morphometric and molecular comparative studies of the above species. These new data validate the existence of only two species (C. affinis and C. angulatus). This information will also be useful to recognize the species in the stomach content of their predators throughout the ossicles morphology.
Hybrid Materials Approach In The Design Of Electrodes And Electrolytes For Energy Storage And Conversion

The integration of electro-ionically active inorganic species in polymer matrices allows for the design of either electrode or electrolyte materials depending on the conducting or insulating properties of the polymer used. Conducting polymers can be used as the basis for a variety of hybrid electrode systems, whereas other polymers such as polybenzimidazoles have been used as electrolyte membranes by themselves or in combination with inorganic solid acids. We will discuss the general approach of hybrid design with this in mind and specifically we will describe our recent results on the use of polyoxometalate-containing hybrids in energy storage and conversion devices. In this respect we have worked in our laboratory on electrochemical supercapacitors and fuel cells but emphasis should be made on the broader potential fields of application of this type of materials.
Multiethnicity or Multiple Enigma: Archaeological survey and cave exploration in the Río Talgua drainage, Honduras

During the summer of 1995, an intensive archaeological survey of the Río Talgua drainage in eastern Honduras was conducted after the discovery of the Talgua Cave in the Department of Olancho. One important goal of this survey was the identification of the indigenous population responsible for depositing the ninth-century b.c. human burials found upstream in Talgua Cave. In addition to this survey, four other caves were found and/or explored during this season, and limited excavations were also conducted at the mounded site of Talgua downstream and at the ceramic-production site of Chichicaste in the mountains to the west. Preliminary analysis of the architecture and ceramics from 39 newly identified archaeological sites in the Talgua Valley suggests that all appear to date to the Late Classic period (a.d. 600–900), leaving the location of the Middle Formative period population unresolved. A review of the survey, cave, and ceramic data, however, does reveal possible information about the multiethnic nature of the regional political system and local social structure that existed in this previously unstudied area of Central America.

The synteses and structure of the three-dimensional perovskite LajCuTiOg are described. In this oxide Cu and Ti atoms are disordered among octahedral sites. The introduction of oxygen vacancies by an adequate cation substitution leads to the induction of bidimensionality as well as an ordered arrangement of cations and oxygen vacancies as found in the layered oxides Ln2Ba2Cu2Ti2O11 (Ln=La,Nd,Eu).
