Introduction
Comorbidity between two or more mental disorders is highly frequent. Depression is one of the diseases that more often accompanies other conditions.
ObjectivesThe objective of this study is to establish the prevalence of depression in patients with delusional disorder and describe the treatment used in these cases.
AimsThe aim is to provide useful information regarding this frequent, often disregarded, comorbidity.
MethodsOur results proceed from the Andalusian delusional disorder case register. We reviewed 1927 clinical histories of patients diagnosed of delusional disorder. Upon having verified the diagnosis, following DSM-V criteria, we recollected several data, including sociodemographic factors, depression comorbidity and antidepressive treatment.
ResultsOne thousand four hundred and fifty-two patients matched DSM-V delusional disorder criteria. 49,8% of our sample were women. Average following period was 9 years and 1 month, with an average of 0,84 hospitalizations. The prevalence of depression in patients with delusional disorders was 31,9%. 67,5% of them received some kind of antidepressive treatment. The antidepressive drugs most frequently used were selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.
ConclusionsDepression is a highly prevalent condition among patients with delusional disorder. Most of them are on antidepressive treatment, the most employed of which is based on selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Comorbid depression can have an important impact on the course of delusional disorder. A correct diagnosis and treatment should be made to help improve the prognosis and life quality of these patients.

Introduction
Sensory deficits such as blindness and deafness are very common forms of disability, affecting over 300 million people worldwide according to World Health Organization estimates. These conditions can lead to misinterpretations of the environment, which may contribute to the development of a delusional disorder in predisposed people.
ObjectivesThe objective of this study is to establish the prevalence of blindness and hearing loss across delusional disorder.
AimsThe aim is to provide useful information regarding this frequent, often disregarded, comorbidity.
MethodsOur results proceed from the Andalusian delusional disorder case-register (DelirAnda). We reviewed 1927 clinical histories of patients diagnosed of delusional disorder. Upon having verified the diagnosis following DSM-V criteria, we recollected data on the prevalence of blindness and hearing loss, which were defined based on clinical diagnosis.
ResultsOne thousand four hundred and fifty-two patients matched DSM-5 delusional disorder criteria. Among them, 49.8% of our sample were women. The overall prevalence of sensory deficits was 7.4%, 3.5% of the patients with delusional disorder were blind, while 3.9% of them suffered from hearing loss.
ConclusionsOur results are consistent with previous studies, such as the Deliremp study, which found a 5.7% prevalence of sensory deficit among delusional disorder patients. These results show a higher prevalence of sensory deficit among delusional disorder patients compared with the general population. However, causality could not be established. Further study should be undertaken regarding the relationship between these two conditions.

Introduction
Mental disorders are often comorbid with chronic physical conditions. This relationship has been looked into in some mental disorders, such as depression or schizophrenia. However, very few studies have explored this comorbidity in the delusional disorder.
ObjectivesThe objective of this study is to establish the prevalence of common chronic medical conditions across delusional disorder.
Upon having verified the diagnosis following DSM-5 criteria, we recollected data on the prevalence of 10 different medical conditions, which were defined based on clinical diagnosis.
ResultsOne thousand four hundred and fifty-two patients matched DSM-5 delusional disorder criteria. Among them, 49.8% of our sample were women. The overall prevalence of medical conditions was 66%. Thirty-one percent of the patients with delusional disorder had only one comorbid physical condition, 20% of them suffered from two conditions, and 15% of them had three or more chronic conditions. The most prevalent physical condition among delusional disorder patients was diabetes, affecting 16% of these patients.
ConclusionsChronic physical conditions are highly prevalent among patients with delusional disorder. Comorbid physical conditions may have an important impact on the course of delusional disorder. A correct diagnosis and treatment of this comorbidity should be made to help improve the prognosis and life quality of these patients.

Obesity is a global epidemic, affecting both developed and developing countries. The related metabolic consequences that arise from being overweight or obese are a paramount global health concern, and represent a significant burden on healthcare systems. Furthermore, being overweight or obese during pregnancy increases the risk of offspring developing obesity and other related metabolic complications in later life, which can therefore perpetuate a transgenerational cycle of obesity. Obesity is associated with a chronic state of low-grade metabolic inflammation. However, the role of maternal obesity-mediated alterations in inflammatory processes as a mechanism underpinning developmental programming in offspring is less understood. Further, the use of anti-inflammatory agents as an intervention strategy to ameliorate or reverse the impact of adverse developmental programming in the setting of maternal obesity has not been well studied. This review will discuss the impact of maternal obesity on key inflammatory pathways, impact on pregnancy and offspring outcomes, potential mechanisms and avenues for intervention.

Fifteen helminth species were collected from 47 wolves (Canis lupus ) which were surveyed from 1993 to 1999 in northwestern Spain. These included the trematode Alaria alata (2.1%); the cestodes Taenia hydatigena (44.7%), T. multiceps (29.8%), T. serialis (2.1%), Dipylidium caninum (6.4%) and Mesocestoides sp. aff. litteratus (4.2%); and the nematodes Pearsonema plica (7.4%), Trichuris vulpis (10.6%), Trichinella britovi (12.8%), Ancylostoma caninum (8.5%), Uncinaria stenocephala (51.1%), Toxocara canis (6.4%) Toxascaris leonina (4.2%), Angiostrongylus vasorum (2.1%) and Dirofilaria immitis (2.1%). Only two wolves were not infected. A single infection occurred in 28.9% of the cases, but the commonest infracommunity (31.1%) involved three species. The helminths Alaria alata, Taenia hydatigena, Mesocestoides sp. aff. litteratus, P. plica, Trichuris vulpis, and Ancylostoma caninum parasitizing C. lupus are reported for the first time in Spain. Taenia serialis and D. immitis are reported for the first time in wolves in Europe. Angiostrongylus vasorum represents a new host record for wolves. The helminth fauna of Spanish wolves is compared with that of other European wolf populations. Some epidemiological considerations of the helminth fauna of wolves in Spain and the health risk to humans are also discussed.

Epidemiological studies have demonstrated the benefits of nut consumption on cardiovascular risk factors and CHD, attributed to their fatty acid profile, rich in unsaturated fatty acids, and also to other nutrients. The effect of nuts on atherosclerotic lesions was studied in female and male apoE-knockout mice fed a diet supplemented with 3 % (w/w) mixed nuts (mix: almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts in a proportion of 0·25:0·25:0·50, respectively), and compared with mice receiving an isoenergetic diet of similar fat content provided as palm oil. After 12 weeks, plasma lipid parameters and aortic lesions were measured. Males receiving nuts had lower plasma cholesterol than the palm oil group, and both sex groups had lower plasma non-HDL-cholesterol and lower content of reactive oxygen species in LDL than mice receiving the palm oil diet, the latter decrease being more pronounced in females than in males. Females consuming the nut diet showed a smaller aortic lesion area than those consuming palm oil, whereas no differences were observed in males. In females, hepatic paraoxonase 2 (Pon2) mRNA increased, and no change was observed in prenylcysteine oxidase 1 (Pcyox1) expression after the consumption of the nut-containing diet. In addition, aortic atherosclerotic lesions correlated directly with total plasma cholesterol and inversely with hepatic Pon2 expression. The results suggest that the beneficial effect of nut intake in female apoE-deficient mice may be attributed to reduced non-HDL-cholesterol levels and enhanced PON2 antioxidant activity.

The aim of the present work was to study the morphological, structural, and chemical analysis as a function of depth in vanadium alloys with a 5 at.% of titanium implanted at 673 K with 1.2 keV N+ ions, by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), glow discharge (GD) analysis, and x-ray photoemission spectroscopy. These results are correlated with those of previously published nanoindentation tests, and the species and chemical states responsible for the increase in hardness are identified. The maximum increase in hardness corresponds to the highest N concentration, measured by both photoemission spectroscopy and GD. In addition, the thickness of the layer (≈1000 nm), where structural modifications are observed using TEM, can also be directly correlated with the thickness of the implanted layer, where an incremental increase in hardness has previously been measured. These findings support the conclusion that the formation of vanadium and titanium nitride/oxynitrides (–N–O,–O–N–H) compounds are responsible for the increased hardness of these V–5at.% Ti samples implanted with N at low ion energy and high sample temperature.

Metal-insulator-semiconductor capacitors are fabricated from a YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCOVYttria-Stabilized Zirconia(YSZ)/Si structure. Current-voltage(I-V) measurements reveal that thicker YBCO films(≤150Å) tend to result in more stable capacitors. Results of capacitance-voltage(C-V) measurements during bias-temperature cycling suggest the presence of a thermally activated process in the YSZ and/or YSZ/Si interface. This process is probably related to trapping/detrapping mechanisms in the SiOx, layer formed between YSZ and Si. It is shown that the distribution of mobile ions in YSZ can be “set” with biases at room temperature and then “frozen” by lowering the temperature, giving rise to adjustable threshold voltages at 80K.
