Spreading of pruning waste over the soil surface may increase soil organic carbon, thus improving soil physical properties and serving as a source of nutrients and energy for microbial populations. The aim of this study was to test the effect of the environmental conditions and the biochemical composition of pruning waste from avocado, cherimoya, mango and gardens on their decomposition process in a Mediterranean subtropical climate. Bagged pruning and garden waste were placed on the ground at a distance of 1 m around the trunk of the three trees from each crop. The concentrations in C, N, lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose, other extracts and ash were determined at the beginning of the experiment (T0), after six (T6) and 24 (T24) months in the field. Initially, significant differences were detected for all types of waste, especially in lignin, hemicellulose, cellulose and other extracts. No significant differences were found in the N content and the C content in mango pruning waste was significantly lower than that in avocado. The greatest weight loss recorded at T24 (63.2%) was related to the lower content in lignin, cellulose and other extracts. Weight losses and C concentrations showed negative correlations with lignin content. Despite the intense decomposition of all the waste, between 55 and 36.8% of the original weights were recorded at the end of the experiment. Recalcitrant C could be the result of the lignin concentrating in the case of the garden waste applied to the different crops.

Objectives:
Postnatal depression is one specific psychiatric condition of vulnerable women being in postpartum period. We aimed to investigate the magnitude of postpartum depression in our region, together with its clinical and personality correlated features.
Material and methods:A cross-sectional survey was conducted on 80 women being between 6 to 8 weeks after delivery that were monitored in Ambulatory of Bega Clinic Timisoara. Several psychopathological scales were administered to quantify postnatal depression (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale - EPDS) and anxiety (Beck Anxiety Inventory), along with anchored visual analogue scales pertaining subjective levels of worry toward the health status of mother and their infant. Dimensional aspects of personality were assessed by using the Karolinska Scale of Personality.
Results:More than half of studied subjects have met the criteria for postnatal depression (cutoff score of 10 on EPDS) (N=43; 53,75%). Both, subjective and standardized levels of anxiety have correlated with the level of postnatal depression. Among the dimensions of personality significant correlated with postnatal depression we found the following: socialization (r = -0,523; p < 0,001); somatic anxiety (r = 0,578; p < 0,001); muscular tension (r = 0,463; p < 0,001); psychic anxiety (r = 0,303; p < 0,01); psychasthenia (r = 0,331; p < 0,01); suspicion (r = 0,236; p < 0,05); indirect aggression (r = 0,226; p < 0,05); irritability aggression (r = 0,242; p < 0,05).
Conclusions:In our region, postnatal depression represents a clinical reality that raises a multitude of clinical and therapeutic challenges.

Introduction
Lately postnatal depression has a growing prevalence, in part because of a rise in awareness in the general population and also, the medical staff.
ObjectivesThe present research was intended to assess the predictive value of obstetrical and neonatal parameters in postnatal depression.
Material and MethodsA 2 year nonconsecutive cross-sectional survey was performed on 163 women between 6 to 8 weeks after delivery, monitored in Obstetrics Outpatient Department of Bega Clinic Timisoara and Resita County Hospital. Postnatal depression was assessed by Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale using a cut-off > 13. Also, obstetrical and neonatal data were collected from medical records of new mothers, using also information gathered from the mothers and the medical care staff. A binary logistic regression on aforementioned parameters was performed to determine their predictive role on postnatal depression.
ResultsThe rate of postnatal depression was in concordance with data existing in international literature (N= 39; 23,93%). Among the obstetrical and neonatal parameters that have had a predictive contribution on the postnatal depression occurrence, it has been found the following: the parity (OR = 0.506; 95%, CI: 0.315 – 0.812; p = 0.005); prematurity (OR = 6.079; 95% CI: 1.326 – 27.886; p = 0.012); and the presence of complications during pregnancy (OR = 7.544; 95% CI: 1.791 – 31.779; p = 0.004).
ConclusionsIn our research, some of the obstetrical and neonatal parameters proved to be predictive factors in postnatal depression, thus enabling to detect new mothers at high risk for depression.

The attachment of Eimeria tenella to its target cells as an obligatory intracellular pathogen is essential for the development of disease. Previous reports have established that other intracellular protozoa parasites have either fibronectin, an adhesion protein, or fibronectin receptors, both of which are involved in the interaction with the host cells. In this current research, studies have been undertaken to visualize a surface component that may be involved in the attachment of E. tenella to host cells. For this purpose, monoclonal antibodies, both anti-chicken and anti-human fibronectin, and also anti-chicken integrin were used. Our results show a fibronectin-like molecule with an apparent molecular weight of 110 kDa in mature schizonts and microgametes. Staining with serum directed against chicken integrin revealed immunoreactivity within mature schizonts. Both the fibronectin-like molecule and the integrin may play an important role in the parasite stage-cell interaction and the promotion of parasite uptake.
