Summary

JIMMY enters the cafe and rather surreptitiously finds a seat. Moments later, LULU enters and hurriedly joins him.

LULU: Thank God you made it! Are you all right? Did you have any problems? You look all puffy.

JIMMY: I'm fine. I'm here.

LULU: I'm all organised. God, I missed you.

[The two lovers kiss passionately.]

The passport's here. I've filled the Merc with petrol. Oh my darling, just be careful with the car - you know my dad. The Merc's like his wife. Oh my darling, are you gonna be all right?

JIMMY: Sure! Sure!

LULU: The map book's in the cubby hole. The Merc takes unleaded. I parked the car at C level at Sandton City. Oh, you look so tense, my darling, it's all over now. By the way, your name in the passport is Zwelakhe Levine.

JIMMY: Zwelakhe Levine!

LULU: Well, we're going to be together, so it makes sense. [She kisses him.] Now, let's see, you haven't forgotten the plan?

I've got the car keys. You collect the car. Take the airport road. Just don't stop for anyone. Your papers are all in order. There won't be any problem at the border. You know the routine. The same border crossing you always used in the old days. You can do this in your sleep. I've packed a suitcase with some mineral water. I can't remember what the water's like there. Once you've crossed the border, look for the signs for the cuddle puddle. Then the turn off to the hot springs. Apparently it's lovely. My parents had their honeymoon there. You'll be very comfortable. Just keep a low profile. You must only order room service. You know how famous you are.

JIMMY: I'll be okay.

LULU: You can never be too careful.

JIMMY: Sure.

LULU: Rest, recover, I'll join you there in two days time. We can spend an easy time together, reconnecting, not having to worry about anything. We'll clear your name, plan your political comeback. I'll look after you.

[She kisses him again.]

We can get married in your own good time, no pressure. Jimmy! I can't wait. You and I together, using our energies, fighting for what's right! We'll clear your name, you'll come back the people's hero you've always been.

JIMMY: Lulu, I knew I could rely on you. Through thick and thin. Did you bring any cash?
