BONES stands and addresses the audience.
BONES: I've lived a long life, I've seen too many terrible things. In the prisons, in the apartheid prisons, the gangs fill the guts of the traitor with hard porridge, stiff porridge. Then the moment comes. They execute the traitor by delivery of blows to the stomach! No marks … another mysterious death! This is not the way for a man to die! We want a clean death! An honourable death!
I am very tired. I have seen too many terrible things. I feel close to the end. It is time for me to die. I want to die. I hope when I die, I will see just one small glimpse of the face of my maker. Then it will be darkness forever.
