Summary
LULU sits pensively nursing a drink. She addresses the audience.
LULU: I know you'll think I'm mad, but I love Johannesburg. Johannesburg keeps me on my toes. I take nothing for granted here. Everything I ever thought, I have to think it fresh here. Everything I ever imagined, I have to turn it on its head. I am loving Johannesburg! Wild city! Damned city! City of every pleasure and every pain!
This madness, this blood! I can't imagine living anywhere else. It's so ugly, it's so brutal. There is so little out there, I'm forced to turn in on my own heart.
My Johannesburg heart! There I find a tenderness I never believed possible. My heart is like Johannesburg. A wound. It's raw, it's bloody, alive to every possibility.
