Parts I through III of this paper will examine several, increasingly comprehensive forms of aggregation, ranging from insurance reimbursement “lock-in” programs to PDMPs to completely unified electronic medical records (EMRs). Each part will advocate for the adoption of these aggregation systems and provide suggestions for effective implementation in the fight against opioid misuse. All PDMPs are not made equal, however, and Part II will, therefore, focus on several elements — mandating prescriber usage, streamlining the user interface, ensuring timely data uploads, creating a national data repository, mitigating privacy concerns, and training doctors on how to respond to perceived doctor-shopping — that can make these systems more effective. In each part, we will also discuss the privacy concerns of aggregating data, ranging from minimal to significant, and highlight the unique role of stigma in motivating these concerns. In Part IV, we will conclude by suggesting remedial steps to offset this loss of privacy and to combat the stigma around SUDs and mental health disorders in general.
Sorption and Desorption of Imazethapyr and 5-Hydroxyimazethapyr in Minnesota Soils

Laboratory batch equilibrium studies were conducted to evaluate the sorption-desorption behavior of imazethapyr and its major plant metabolite, 5-hydroxyimazethapyr, in three Minnesota soils. Sorption of both compounds on all soils was low, and pH did not significantly influence sorption in the range of 4,8 to 7.1. Less 5-hydroxyimazethapyr was sorbed than imazethapyr on the same soil. Once sorbed, both compounds were only partially desorbable from all soils. Significant hysteresis and formation of nonextractable residues indicate that the small amount of chemical sorbed is bound to selective surfaces with strong bonds. Webster clay loam had greater irreversibility than Waukegen silt loam and Estherville sandy loam soil. The hysteresis observed in desorption may be responsible for the difference between mobility estimations made from laboratory sorption studies and the limited mobility observed in field experiments.

A battery of colour vision tests was employed to evaluate visual function in patients with multiple sclerosis (M.S.). Colour deficits were found in 45% of patients tested with the Ishihara plates and 42.5% of patients tested with the FM 100-Hue test. 65% of M.S. patients failed at least one of the tests.
The colour vision deficits were not restricted to patients with optic neuritis or with visual evoked potential (VEP) abnormalities and there was no significant correlation between an abnormal VEP latency and a colour vision deficit. Colour vision testing may be a useful option to consider in the investigation of M.S. patients, even if there is no other evidence of visual system involvement.

Early detection of forest degradation may help to compensate for the time-lag that often exists between recognition of poor stewardship and the policy-changes required to mitigate such negative impacts. We report here on an International Forestry Resources and Institutions (IFRI) pilot study in Uganda.

Individuals infected with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and having cognitive impairment have been described as having slow mentation. Data supporting this proposition come from a variety of sources, including Sternberg's (1966) item recognition memory task. The procedure nominally provides an index of speed of mental operations, independent from input/output demands. However, since the original use of this procedure in the 1960s, advances in cognitive psychology have revealed many of its limitations. The purpose of the present study was to examine the psychometric characteristics of this task. Each participant performed the Sternberg item recognition task twice, 6 mo apart. The stability of the estimate of the slope of regression equations and for zero intercept ranged from excellent (r = .87) to poor (r = .30), and the data from many individual subjects could not be reliably modelled using multiple linear regression techniques. These data, as well as those from previous research, demonstrate the limited practical use of this task in clinical samples. Furthermore, as cognitive psychological theory has advanced in the past 30 yr, the conceptual underpinnings of the procedure have essentially evaporated. (JINS, 1995, 1, 3–9).

The light-scatter technique has been used to study the nozzle-fluid concentration field in an isothermal, turbulent, axisymmetric air/air free jet with the nozzle air marked by an oil smoke. The data on the mean concentration field appear to be the most accurate yet obtained, due to the peculiar advantages of the technique. The turbulent concentration fluctuations have been characterized as to intensity, spectral distribution, and two-point correlation. The intermittency factor has been measured and the properties of the turbulent fluid computed. Comparison with the results of other investigators who used heat to mark the nozzle fluid indicates a close similarity between the concentration and temperature fields.

The light-scatter technique facilitates study of the concentration field when one of the streams entering a mixing region is marked with colloidal particles. The present paper provides basic information for the effective application of the technique. The system response is analysed theoretically. The problems of noise and spatial resolution are examined and experimental data are presented from which the response parameters are evaluated numerically. The capabilities of the technique for characterizing turbulent concentration fluctuations are described. The technique is excellent in the convection region of the turbulence spectrum but fails where molecular diffusion is important.
