Objective:
To prioritise and refine a set of evidence-informed statements into advice messages to promote vegetable liking in early childhood, and to determine applicability for dissemination of advice to relevant audiences.
Design:A nominal group technique (NGT) workshop and a Delphi survey were conducted to prioritise and achieve consensus (≥70 % agreement) on thirty evidence-informed maternal (perinatal and lactation stage), infant (complementary feeding stage) and early years (family diet stage) vegetable-related advice messages. Messages were validated via triangulation analysis against the strength of evidence from an Umbrella review of strategies to increase children’s vegetable liking, and gaps in advice from a Desktop review of vegetable feeding advice.
Setting:Australia.
Participants:A purposeful sample of key stakeholders (NGT workshop, n 8 experts; Delphi survey, n 23 end users).
Results:Participant consensus identified the most highly ranked priority messages associated with the strategies of: ‘in-utero exposure’ (perinatal and lactation, n 56 points) and ‘vegetable variety’ (complementary feeding, n 97 points; family diet, n 139 points). Triangulation revealed two strategies (‘repeated exposure’ and ‘variety’) and their associated advice messages suitable for policy and practice, twelve for research and four for food industry.
Conclusions:Supported by national and state feeding guideline documents and resources, the advice messages relating to ‘repeated exposure’ and ‘variety’ to increase vegetable liking can be communicated to families and caregivers by healthcare practitioners. The food industry provides a vehicle for advice promotion and product development. Further research, where stronger evidence is needed, could further inform strategies for policy and practice, and food industry application.

The Galactic TeV ${\gamma}$ -ray source ${\mathrm{HESS\,J}1804{-}216}$ is currently an unidentified source. In an attempt to unveil its origin, we present here the most detailed study of interstellar gas using data from the Mopra Southern Galactic Plane CO Survey, 7- and 12-mm wavelength Mopra surveys and Southern Galactic Plane Survey of HI. Several components of atomic and molecular gas are found to overlap ${\mathrm{HESS\,J}1804{-}216}$ at various velocities along the line of sight. The CS(1-0) emission clumps confirm the presence of dense gas. Both correlation and anti-correlation between the gas and TeV ${\gamma}$ -ray emission have been identified in various gas tracers, enabling several origin scenarios for the TeV ${\gamma}$ -ray emission from ${\mathrm{HESS\,J}1804{-}216}$ . For a hadronic scenario, ${\mathrm{SNR\,G}8.7{-}0.1}$ and the progenitor supernova remnant (SNR) of ${\mathrm{PSR\,J}1803{-}2137}$ require cosmic ray (CR) enhancement factors of ${\mathord{\sim} 50}$ times the solar neighbour CR flux value to produce the TeV ${\gamma}$ -ray emission. Assuming an isotropic diffusion model, CRs from both these SNRs require a slow diffusion coefficient, as found for other TeV SNRs associated with adjacent ISM gas. The morphology of gas located at 3.8 kpc (the dispersion measure distance to ${\mathrm{PSR\,J}1803{-}2137}$ ) tends to anti-correlate with features of the TeV emission from ${\mathrm{HESS\,J}1804{-}216}$ , making the leptonic scenario possible. Both pure hadronic and pure leptonic scenarios thus remain plausible.

OBJECTIVES/GOALS: Clinical trials demonstrate that axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) is unnecessary for most breast cancer patients with 1-3 involved nodes, but whether this is true for those with ILC is unknown. We evaluate the impact of ALND on recurrence-free survival (RFS) in ILC and 1-3 positive nodes. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION: We performed a retrospective cross-sectional analysis of patients with ILC treated between 1992-2019 at our institution. All patients received either sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) or ALND and underwent either breast conservation surgery (BCS) or mastectomy. The primary outcome was RFS, defined as the absence of locoregional or distant recurrence. RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS: Of 496 cases, 250 (50.4%) underwent BCS, and 246 (49.6%) underwent mastectomy. A total of 93% of patients were hormone receptor positive, and 89% had low or intermediate grade disease. Among patients with 1-3 positive nodes, there was no significant difference in 5- and 10-year RFS based on receipt of ALND for both BCS and mastectomy cohorts. Using a multivariate model, we found no association between ALND and RFS overall (HR = 0.98, 95% CI 0.36-2.7, p>0.20) and among those with 1-3 positive nodes (HR = 0.60, 95% CI 0.12-3.4, p>0.20). DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE OF IMPACT: These findings support the safety of omitting ALND in patients with ILC and 1-3 positive nodes, regardless of whether they receive BCS or mastectomy. Further studies of axillary management in ILC, including imaging tools to predict nodal involvement and response to therapy, are warranted.

In our program, we explore the space of representations present in the mind by constraining them to explain data at multiple levels of analysis, from behavioral patterns to neural activity. We argue that this integrated program assuages Brette's worries about the study of the neural code.

We present observations of 50 deg2 of the Mopra carbon monoxide (CO) survey of the Southern Galactic Plane, covering Galactic longitudes l = 300–350° and latitudes |b| ⩽ 0.5°. These data have been taken at 0.6 arcmin spatial resolution and 0.1 km s−1spectral resolution, providing an unprecedented view of the molecular clouds and gas of the Southern Galactic Plane in the 109–115 GHz J = 1–0 transitions of 12CO, 13CO, C18O, and C17O.
We present a series of velocity-integrated maps, spectra, and position-velocity plots that illustrate Galactic arm structures and trace masses on the order of ~106 M⊙ deg−2, and include a preliminary catalogue of C18O clumps located between l = 330–340°. Together with the information about the noise statistics of the survey, these data can be retrieved from the Mopra CO website and the PASA data store.

Hip fracture rehabilitation has two streams: high tolerance short duration (HTSD) and low tolerance long duration (LTLD). This study examined patient characteristics and outcomes in HTSD and LTLD associated with length of stay (LOS) and discharge destination. We retrospectively examined patients’ medical charts following hip fracture surgery and collected demographic, functional, and health characteristics. A statistical analysis was done to describe the differences between HTSD (n = 73) and LTLD (n = 57) patient characteristics and their relationship with LOS and discharge destination. Those in LTLD were significantly older, less independent with prefracture bathing and instrumental activities of daily living, had lower Functional Independence Measure (FIM) admission scores, and more co-morbidities. Higher FIM motor score on admission in HTSD and greater change in FIM total score in LTLD was significantly correlated with discharge home. Diabetes in LTLD and lower total admission FIM in HTSD was significantly associated with increased LOS.

One salient characteristic of twin studies and the related behavioral genetics paradigm is the requirement of a large sample size. Countries or regions that are large in size and highly populated are at an advantage when implementing twin studies. However, given the fascinating and promising results obtained from twin studies, many researchers based in smaller countries or regions may still want to conduct twin studies in order to address local and theoretical issues. In this article, we have outlined the development of twin studies in Hong Kong, one of the Special Administrative Regions of China. The historical development and design of the two major twin studies of language and reading development implemented within Hong Kong are discussed, providing insights to researchers who also aspire to conduct twin studies in small regions.

We present observations of the first 10° of longitude in the Mopra CO survey of the southern Galactic plane, covering Galactic longitude l = 320–330° and latitude b = ±0.5°, and l = 327–330°, b = +0.5–1.0°. These data have been taken at 35-arcsec spatial resolution and 0.1 km s−1 spectral resolution, providing an unprecedented view of the molecular clouds and gas of the southern Galactic plane in the 109–115 GHz J = 1–0 transitions of 12CO, 13CO, C18O, and C17O. Together with information about the noise statistics from the Mopra telescope, these data can be retrieved from the Mopra CO website and the CSIRO-ATNF data archive.

Summary
Introduction
The year 2010 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Singapore and China. Yet, well before formal ties were established, Singapore and China had extensive interactions as an important part of China's overall relations with Southeast Asia, then known as Nanyang. Furthermore, during the height of Beijing's Cold War relations with Southeast Asia in the 1950s and 1960s, Singapore still maintained economic ties with China while China's ties with other Southeast Asian states had been disrupted or suspended. Today, Singapore-China bilateral ties are broad-based, substantive and rapidly expanding. The achievements today are extraordinary given their past ideological differences.
In several ways, ties between the two countries can be described as special and unique. Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping during his Nanxun in 1992 specifically singled out Singapore's development experience as being useful to China. This set the basis for the two countries to cooperate in various fields and benefit from each other's growth. Other Chinese leaders have also mentioned Singapore from time to time to push relevant reforms in China. Besides the close personal ties between the leaders of the two countries, there is the high-level Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation headed by the Deputy Prime Ministers of the two countries that oversees various forms of bilateral cooperation.
A strong bilateral relationship has thus given rise to strong bilateral economic relations. Singapore's two-way trade with China over the past two decades has increased 30 times, from US$2.9 billion in 1990 to US$75 billion in 2010. China was also Singapore's third-largest trading partner and second-largest source of tourist arrivals in 2011. From China's perspective, Singapore is China's ninth largest trading partner and seventh-largest investor with Singapore's cumulative foreign direct investment (FDI) in China amounting to US$48 billion in 2009.
Singapore's special economic relationship with China can best be epitomized by Singapore's three flagship projects in China: Singapore-Suzhou Industrial Park; Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City; and Knowledge City in Guangzhou.

Recent studies suggest that white matter abnormalities contribute to both motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease. The present study was designed to investigate the degree to which diffusion tensor magnetic resonance imaging (DTI) indices are related to executive function in Parkinson's patients. We used tract-based spatial statistics to compare DTI data from 15 patients to 15 healthy, age- and education-matched controls. We then extracted mean values of fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean diffusivity (MD) within an a priori frontal mask. Executive function composite Z scores were regressed against these DTI indices, age, and total intracranial volume. In Parkinson's patients, FA was related to executive composite scores, and both indices were related to Stroop interference scores. We conclude that white matter microstructural abnormalities contribute to cognitive deficits in Parkinson's disease. Further work is needed to determine whether these white matter changes reflect the pathological process or a clinically important comorbidity. (JINS, 2013, 19, 1–6)
Morphological awareness in Chinese: Unique associations of homophone awareness and lexical compounding to word reading and vocabulary knowledge in Chinese children

An in-depth exploration of the associations of two aspects of morphological awareness in Chinese—homophone awareness and lexical compounding awareness—to Chinese word reading and vocabulary knowledge was the primary focus of the present study. Among 154 9-year-old Hong Kong Chinese children, both lexical compounding and homophone awareness were significantly associated with word reading (r = .54 for compounding, r = .38 for homophones) and vocabulary knowledge (r = .41 for compounding, r = .53 for homophones). However, with autoregressors additionally statistically controlled, homophone awareness remained uniquely associated with vocabulary but not word reading; lexical compounding was uniquely associated with both word reading and vocabulary. Path analyses best illustrated this pattern. Both morphological awareness constructs are likely bidirectionally associated with word reading and vocabulary knowledge. However, homophone awareness is more centrally associated with vocabulary knowledge because it taps specific, existing morpheme knowledge. In contrast, lexical compounding requires structural understanding of one's language, which seems to be helpful for both learning to read and vocabulary acquisition in Chinese.

Background: This paper reports the development and validation of the Chinese Significant Wish Fulfillment Scale (CSWFS), a new multidimensional scale for assessing the perceived importance and level of fulfillment of wishes of older adults.
Methods: Three studies were involved. Study 1 developed a 26-item pool on wish fulfillment through in-depth interviews with 22 older adults. Study 2 reduced the pool to 23 items through validation with a new sample of 315 older adults and examined the internal reliability. Study 3 involved a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and examined the test-retest reliability and the convergent validity of the scale with the construct of regret.
Results: A five-factor structure model of 23 items was identified through exploratory factor analysis, which accounted for 51.67% of variance. As informed by the CFA in Study 3, a five-factor 22-item model was the best fit. Internal reliability and test-retest reliability was found to be good. Convergent validity was examined through correlation with the construct of future regret. The correlation, though statistically significant, was small.
Conclusion: CSWFS demonstrates good psychometric properties, but the construct might be slightly different from that of future regrets. Probably, CSWFS addresses a construct that is under-explored but is of importance to older adults and especially to the Chinese community.
Optional elements and variant structures in the productions of bei2 ‘to give’ dative constructions in Cantonese-speaking adults and three-year-old children*

To express object transfer, Cantonese-speakers use a ‘ditransitive’ ([V–R–T] or [V–T–R] where V=Verb, T=Theme, R=Recipient), or a more complex prepositional/serial-verb (P/SV) construction. Clausal elements in Cantonese datives can be optional (resulting in ‘full’ versus ‘non-full’ forms) or appear in variant orders (full non-canonical and full canonical). We report on usage of dative constructions with the word bei2 ‘to give’ in 86 parents and 53 three-year-old children during conversations. The parents used more P/SV than ditransitive bei2-datives, and vice versa for the children. Both groups showed a similar usage pattern of optional elements and variant structures in their ditransitive and P/SV bei2-datives. The roles of multiple construction types, optional elements and variant structures in children's learning of bei2-dative constructions are described.

Understanding how words are created is potentially a key component to being able to learn and understand new vocabulary words. However, research on morphological awareness is relatively rare. In this study, over 660 preschool-aged children from three language groups (Cantonese, Mandarin, and Korean speakers) in which compounding morphology is highly prevalent were tested on their abilities to manipulate familiar morphemes to create novel compound words as well as on a variety of early language and reasoning measures twice over the span of 9 months to 1 year. With Time 1 vocabulary knowledge, phonological processing, and reasoning skills controlled, morphological awareness predicted unique variance in Time 2 vocabulary knowledge across languages. Across languages, vocabulary knowledge also predicted unique variance in subsequent morphological awareness, with Time 1 morphological awareness controlled. Findings underscore the bidirectional bootstrapping of morphological awareness and vocabulary acquisition for languages in which lexical compounding is prominent, and suggest that morphological awareness may be practically important in predicting and fostering children's early vocabulary learning.

A new method has been developed for the synthesis of shaped-controlled bridged silsesquioxanes by the acid hydrolysis of urea-derived silylated precursors. This method is based on the ability of the hydrogen bonds of the urea groups to organize the molecules in a supramolecular architecture and provides after hydrolysis a new access to hybrid materials with controlled morphologies. A chirality transcription from a molecular precursor to a hybrid solid has been achieved. A right- and a left-handed helices have been obtained respectively from the chiral (R,R)- and the (S,S)-enantiomers of the diureido derivatives of trans-diaminocyclohexane. In a related way, a long range ordered hybrid solid has been obtained. Long carbon chain as spacer between the urea groups of the precursor affords lamellar hybrid silicas.

Studies of high-temperature alloys in the Ti-Sn system based on the intermetallic compound Ti3Sn have identified alloys that damp strongly both at low frequencies (0.1 to 10 Hz) and high frequencies (5 to 20 MHz). The low frequency damping behavior shows loss factors as high as 0.04 at room temperature and Young's moduli that rise with temperature from 40 °C to 100 °C for two alloys. Although the basic mechanism or mechanisms of energy dissipation are presently unknown, the alloys are notable for unusual shapes of microhardness indentations. The deformations imply that large reversible strains can occur at temperatures from 23 °C to 1150 °C.

Polysilicon is a key material widely used in MOSFET, bipolar, and BICMOS devices. As these technologies evolve into the deep submicron regime, several issues emerge in the applications of polysilicon that must be addressed. In sub-0.5µm MOSFET, fabrication and reliability of n + poly for NMOS and p + poly for PMOS should be studied. In bipolar technology, scaling limits of polysilicon emitter must be investigated. Understanding polysilicon, both in terms of its basic material and process characteristics and its characteristics in specific integrated process and/or integrated device structures, is definitely required in order to realize the full potential of ULSI technologies.
