Introducing Brief Research Reports
We have recently introduced a new article type for authors and readers of AJSIE, the brief research report. This will complement the existing original research articles, literature reviews and submissions for the Special Education Perspectives section of the journal.
Our aim in introducing this article type is to encourage researchers to present findings of their original research in a shorter form. The maximum word length of full research articles in AJSIE, including abstract, references, endnotes, tables, and figures is 7000 words. The maximum word length for the brief research report will be 3000 words.
We anticipate that these articles, while reporting method, findings, and analysis in the context of current literature, might facilitate a more streamlined dissemination of research in the area of special and inclusive education.
We are aware that occasionally a lack of the time necessary to develop a full research article can delay the sharing of important research. It is our expectation that as an alternative this new article type might be attractive to the professional and scholarly community by providing more succinct and timely reports.
For more information on how to submit to AJSIE, check out our instructions for authors.
