The American Philosophical Association (APA) and Cambridge University Press will launch the Journal of the American Philosophical Association, a new general philosophy journal, in 2015.

Appearing quarterly in print and online, the new journal will be a venue for original, rigorously refereed research of the highest scholarly quality. It will aim to publish work with the greatest potential value and impact and promote the exchange of ideas among philosophers and between philosophy and other fields. The journal will recognize the diversity of philosophy as a discipline and welcome submissions from all areas of philosophy.

Members of the APA will benefit from free online access to the new journal. In addition, Cambridge will provide all members with complimentary print copies of the first volume.

Michael Bratman, Chair of the APA board of officers, said: “We are very excited about this new venture—in cooperation with one of the great academic presses, Cambridge University Press—and  all that it will mean for APA members and the philosophy profession generally. Our new journal will publish articles of the highest quality and from across the philosophical spectrum. I anticipate that it will make a major contribution to important philosophical research and scholarship over these coming years.”

At Cambridge, the Journal of the American Philosophical Association will be joining one of the world’s most highly respected lists of philosophy books and journals.
