Memory, Mind & Media, a new Gold Open Access journal for 2022

Cambridge University Press is excited to announce the launch of a new peer-reviewed, Gold Open Access journal for 2022.  Memory, Mind & Media will be an agenda-setting interdisciplinary journal that explores the impact of media and technology on human, social and cultural remembering and forgetting.

We are delighted that the journal will be led by Professor Andrew Hoskins (University of Glasgow, UK) and Professor Amanda Barnier (Macquarie University, Australia). As co-Editors-in-Chief, Andrew and Amanda bring to the journal extensive experience editing journals in memory studies alongside their formidable academic reputations across the human and social sciences. They will be supported by an impressive and geographically diverse Editorial Board with expertise across the many disciplines that the journal will represent and engage.

The journal will foster high-quality, interdisciplinary conversations combining scientific and humanistic approaches to the study of memory in the digital era. It will be a home for a wide variety of scholars, including those working within and across history, philosophy, media studies, cultural studies, law, literature, anthropology, political science, sociology, neuroscience, psychology and computational science. This dynamic journal will champion jargon free discussions of theoretical and methodological innovation and diversity, publishing innovative types of articles and contributions alongside traditional research papers.

Formally launching in 2022 with an advance release of content in 2021, the journal will publish an exciting inaugural manifesto collection. These first articles will consist of short, agenda-setting pieces from world-leading and emergent scholars that map the terrain, opportunities and challenges for the journal.

An online submission system will go live in early 2021. For now, authors wishing to submit a paper to Memory, Mind & Media should contact memorycambridge@gmail.com.
