Digital Learning, Transitioning to Open Access and the Future of Libraries: Find out what happened at the UKSG 2021 Virtual Conference
The three-day event drew global attention and pushed conversations on academic publishing to a larger scale. Find out what you may have missed from Cambridge.
It is hard to believe that just one year ago, we were able to attend events and conferences in person. The UKSG 44th annual conference hosted online for the first time, from April 12th to 14th 2021, created a stimulating environment for librarians, instructors, researchers, and publishers to discuss the opportunities and challenges for Academic publishing in the coming years. The conference brought together hundreds of delegates from leading researchers and organisations such as EBSCO, the Royal Society of Chemistry, Cambridge University Press, and partners around the world.
A call to action
Most importantly, the event showed that Academic publishing is at the centre of change and evolution, especially as we come out of the current crisis. A central theme emerging throughout the conference was a call to action in establishing new ways of teaching and learning post-pandemic, transitioning to Open Access, and what the future looks like in Academic publishing.
