Online learning and digital textbooks: the first episode of a new podcast series for librarians

Today we are pleased to announce the launch of the first two episodes of our new podcast series, Cambridge Libraries of the World.

This series is intended for librarians to learn about current topics in academic discourse, via interviews with professors, students, librarians, and Cambridge personnel.

In the first episode, available here, Laura Newby, Product Manager, and Dave Morris, Digital Products Editor, both from our development team, along with Jack Macdonald, Director of Library Sales, Academic Publishing, talk about developing the Higher Education website; how customers can provide feedback we’ll then use to further improve the site; balancing the needs of students, teachers, and librarians; and how to ensure accessibility for as many learners as possible, regardless of where they are in the world or what physical or other limitations they might have.

Towards the end of the 36-minute episode, there’s an opportunity to hear from each interviewee about one improvement they’d make to academic publishing overall.

The second episode, also live today, is Building libraries with diversity in mind, available here. A chartered librarian and an assistant professor from the UK’s De Montfort University are interviewed.

More episodes will be available soon. Please go here for updates.
