New to Cambridge in 2025: Experimental Economics and JESA

Cambridge University Press is pleased to announce that it will publish Experimental Economics and the Journal of the Economic Science Association (JESA) from January 2025, in partnership with the Economic Science Association.

Experimental Economics is the flagship journal of the Economic Science Association, and the premier specialized outlet for experimental research in economics. The Journal of the Economic Science Association provides a unique platform for research of interest to the ESA community and practitioners of experimental economics.

As part of the move to Cambridge, Experimental Economics and JESA will become fully open access, with all content accepted for publication from Volumes 28 and 11 respectively to be published open access with a Creative Commons license. Open access provides greater benefits for the ESA community, with more exposure and greater downloads for our authors, and supports opportunities for research discoveries through free access for our readers.

Economic Science Association President, Charles Noussair, says: “The Economic Science Association looks forward to its move to Cambridge. Our two journals, Experimental Economics and the Journal of the Economic Science Association, will be published fully open access in 2025. We plan to improve on our already high quality published content, and continue to serve the ESA Community as a premier outlet for its work.”

Cambridge University Press HSS Publishing Director, Daniel Pearce, says: “We are thrilled and privileged to be partnering with the Economic Science Association to publish Experimental Economics and the Journal of the Economic Science Association. Our two organizations share a long-standing commitment to facilitating the broad dissemination of research in Economics, and this partnership furthers that commitment by transitioning two key field titles to a fully equitable open access model. It is a change that will deliver incisive research, without barriers, to an even larger global audience, and result in greater impact for authors publishing in both journals. We are delighted to be working with the Association and its editorial teams to make this happen.”
