Introducing Librarian Self Service

In a busy working week, we’re all trying to save time and, thanks to technology, there are more and more cunning ways to do so. No time to go shopping? Order online and have it delivered. Looking to save precious minutes at the airport? Check-in online and dodge the queues.  And if you’re a busy librarian? Use the new Self-Service feature on Cambridge Books Online (CBO).

We want to give librarians the tools to cut down on unnecessary admin and process e-book orders quickly and easily. Our new self-service feature will enable librarians to instantly purchase up to 25 titles a day across CBO, as well as titles from our University Publishing Online partners.

We also appreciate there may be occasions when you require more than 25 titles, and are keen to make sure this is still an efficient option. Which is why we’ll email both you and your sales representative an instant quote when more than 25 titles are added to your basket, enabling you to contact us directly and quickly process your request.

To benefit from the new Librarian Self Service feature, account administrators will need to contact your Cambridge representative to ask that the feature be enabled for your account. Once it is enabled, just login to CBO, where you will see a ‘self service purchase’ option in the Account Admin menu.

You can keep up to date with all the latest CBO and CJO developments, by following our Librarian Connection Twitter feed.
