We are delighted that you will be joining us at The Pitt Building for your forthcoming event and we look forward to welcoming you.

Situated on Trumpington Street in the heart of Cambridge, our historic venue blends architectural character with modern facilities and thoughtful service.

Whether you are attending a conference, meeting, exhibition or private event, our team is here to ensure your experience is seamless and professionally delivered.

A Venue With Character

Your event will be taking place in an iconic building steeped in Cambridge’s publishing and academic history. Owned and operated by Cambridge University Press & Assessment, The Pitt Building offers a unique setting that reflects Cambridge’s heritage while supporting contemporary events. 

We offer:

Meet The Team 

Travel Information

We encourage all our visitors to travel to the building via sustainable travel means where possible. 

PARK AND RIDE 

Cambridge is well served by 4 Park and Ride sites around the city. 

Buses depart every 10 minutes at peak times, parking is free for up to 18 hours, enjoy free onboard Wi-Fi and help to reduce emissions and congestion in the city. 

TRAIN 

Cambridge train station is a 27 minute walk or 10 minute taxi ride to the Pitt Building. Alternatively, ‘Citi’ bus routes 1,3 and 7 serve the train station to and from the city centre. 

BUS 

Plan your journey to the Pitt Building by bus using the Cambridgeshire journey planner. Your destination will be Trumpington Street. 

CYCLE 

We are pleased to offer secure cycle parking at the Pitt Building. Please ask reception staff for a card key to the cycle shed on arrival. 

CAR 

The Pitt Building is easily accessible from several major road networks including the M11, M1/A1 and A14. 

We do not offer parking on site but instead encourage our visitors and delegates to make use of the many excellent walking, cycling and public transport options available around Cambridge. If it is essential that you travel by car we can pre-arrange parking with a nearby hotel. Please contact us at enquiries@pittbuilding.org for further information.

Your Experience On The Day

Our reception team will be ready to welcome you on arrival at The Pitt Building and to show you to your room. In addition, members of the Events Team will be available to assist you throughout your time with us. 

Guests can expect clear signage, along with complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the building and high quality AV equipment and support. 

Refreshments are served in line with your event schedule, and we cater for the majority of dietary requirements. Please ensure your event organiser is aware of these requirements at the time of booking.

Accessibility & Inclusion 

We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all guests. If you have accessibility requirements or need additional assistance, we encourage you to inform your organiser in advance so we can ensure appropriate arrangements are in place. 

Sustainability & Responsibility

Sustainability underpins our approach to venue management and our focus includes:

  • Ensuring the Pitt Building is free from single-use plastics
  • Promoting digital materials over print
  • Providing clear recycling and waste separation facilities

We have embarked on a green meeting journey with Green Tourism and are currently working towards our Silver Accreditation. Delegates can help support our efforts by: 

  • Bringing reusable water bottles
  • Choosing public transport, cycling or walking
  • Using recycling facilities correctly
  • Opting for digital documentation where possible
