Pitt Building - Sustainable

Sustainability

Video

Here at the Pitt Building, we are passionate about the world in which we live and recognise that urgent action is needed to address the negative impacts of climate change. We understand that our building and the event services that we provide may have a direct impact on the environment. We are therefore committed to place environmental issues at the very heart of our strategic and operational decisions and have pledged to proactively work to promote sustainability, invest in a greener future and reduce the carbon footprint at the Pitt Building.

Here are some of the ways in which we are making a difference at the Pitt Building:

  • Occupancy sensor lighting has been installed in appropriate areas
  • Controllable heating and air conditioning are a feature of the meeting rooms
  • Rooms are heated only from October to March
  • Lights are turned off when rooms are not in use
Catering

  • We cater for the majority of dietary requirements and provide healthy eating options, including a wonderful selection of plant based menus
  • We use Vegware compostable packaging for our packed snacks and takeaway boxes
  • We source fair trade tea and coffee
  • Water fountains are provided to encourage visitors and delegates to refill their own water containers
