The Pitt Building has a prominent role in Cambridge's academic and publishing history. Having been completed in 1833 to commemorate Prime Minister William Pitt the Younger, it has previously served as the printing and publishing office of Cambridge University Press for more than 100 years.

    What technical support can I expect during my hybrid meeting?

    We work closely with our A/V partners, and we will ensure you receive full A/V and technical event support from a dedicated technician - both at the planning stage and during your event.

    What equipment can you provide?

    Our A/V partners can provide a huge range of audio, audio/visual, live-streaming and hybrid equipment to suit your event. Please contact your Event Manager to discuss your hybrid event in more detail.

     

    What is a hybrid meeting, and how does it differ from a virtual meeting?

    In a hybrid meeting, participation is mixed - some delegates are physically present, while others participate remotely via a virtual conferencing platform. In a virtual meeting, all delegates connect to the meeting remotely using a virtual conferencing platform, and there is no physical attendance.

    I would like to book a large hybrid meeting - do you have a suitable space?

    Yes. For large, hybrid meetings we would recommend using either our Darwin Room or  Newton Room. Both rooms are located on the ground floor and are our largest and most popular spaces. They can comfortably accommodate a sizeable technical hub, several large audio/visual screens, cameras and up to 100 people in a theatre-style layout.

     

    I would like to book a smaller hybrid meeting - do you have a suitable space?

    We offer Microsoft Teams equipment for smaller groups in our Oriel, Bentley, Cass and Wright Rooms, as well as a portable Meeting Owl. The Meeting Owl offers an intelligent 360-degree camera, microphone and speaker to create an immersive hybrid meeting experience.
