Fluids Writing Competition – now open!

Are you passionate about fluid mechanics and its applications? Are you looking to develop your writing skills and engage with an audience that’s just as enthusiastic on the subject as you are?

The Journal of Fluid Mechanics and Flow: Applications of Fluid Mechanics would like to invite you to submit a story as part of our Fluids Writing Competition. If this sounds like the opportunity for you, our guidelines are as follows.

  • Entries must be written for a broad scientific audience and no longer than 700 words.
  • Stories must be based on a paper published in the Journal of Fluid Mechanics. If your institution does not have access, you can use Focus on Fluids papers or papers which have been published open access.
  • Stories must be submitted by 5:00pm GMT on Friday, 19th March, 2021.

Winners will receive a certificate on behalf of the Journal of Fluid Mechanics and Flow: Applications of Fluid Mechanics, will have their stories published on the fluid mechanics blog and will have their work promoted via Cambridge University Press subject-level social media accounts!

Questions and completed entries can be submitted to jfmprize@cambridge.org. Because we expect this competition to generate a great deal of interest, please use the subject “Fluids Writing Competition” when sending your email.

We look forward to hearing from you!
