Summary

The conclusion reflects further on the significance of violines to the history of Cuban and Afrodiasporic religions by comparing them with similar musical styles such as gospelypso in Trinidad, devotional samba in Brazil and recent fusions of Dominican sacred and secular repertoire in New York. It suggests that the popularity of violines suggests broader changes in Cuban society, especially the gradual loss of ritual Lucumí knowledge on the part of many worshippers.
