Abstract

The microbeam X-ray diffraction technique was used for the evaluation of fracture analysis on the fatigued low carbon steel specimens.

It is possible to evaluate both monotonic and cyclic plastic zone sizes beneath fatigue fracture surface. Thus the stress intensity factor can be estimated.
