AN UNUSUAL NEW SPECIES OF ASCA FROM NORTH AMERICA (ACARINA: ASCIDAE)

Abstract

The female and male of Asca acornis n. sp. are described and illustrated. This species occurs in arboreal habitats in the southern United States. The absence of the most salient diagnostic character of the genus Asca on adults of this species is discussed.
