Abstract

The North American species of the genus Acidota Stephens are revised. Three species are recognized, the Holarctic species quadrata (Zetterstedt) and crenata (Fabricius) and the eastern North American species subcarinata Erichson. All major generic and specific characters are illustrated with line drawings and scanning electron photomicrographs. A key is included to aid in identifying the species. Olophrum crenulatum Hatch is placed in synonymy with A. quadrata.
