In a previous paper (2) we have developed a spectral theory and a unitary equivalence theory for a certain class of non-normal operators. We dealt primarily with operators which were called J 2 operators. At present we are interested in studying the uniformly closed rings generated by such operators.

The notation will be the same as in (2).
