Cambridge is inviting applications for the position of Senior Associate Editor on the journal Epidemiology and Psychiatric Sciences, to begin before the end of 2025.
The deadline for applications is November 30, 2025.
Epidemiology and Psychiatric Sciences is an international, peer-reviewed journal publishing Open Access from 2020. Formerly published as Epidemiologia e Psichiatria Sociale, established in 1992 by Michele Tansella, the journal gives priority to highly relevant and innovative research articles and systematic reviews in the areas of public mental health and policy; mental health services, system research; and epidemiological and social psychiatry.
EPS Senior Associate Editors are centrally involved in the journal’s editorial processes, and reviewing the most recent research work submitted to the journal. The journal is particularly interested in expanding the diversity of the editorial team in terms of regional representation, and expertise (e.g. early career researchers and lived experience experts). Interested applicants should send a CV and any other supporting information to Ned Wilson Eames at Cambridge University Press (details below). Applications will be reviewed by the journal’s Editorial team, and final appointment confirmation will be made by the Syndicate of Cambridge University Press.
Working with the Editor-in-Chief and other members of the EPS editorial team, responsibilities will include:
- Acting as an ambassador for the journal including encouraging submissions and publicising published content
- Working with Cambridge and the editorial team to guide the journal’s strategy, to improve its quality, and to raise the international visibility and profile of the journal
- Ensuring that any submissions to the journal allocated for your responsibility are professionally peer reviewed in a fair, consistent and timely fashion, liaising with the authors and any additional referees as required (with the support of a peer review coordinator provided by the publisher)
- Attending meetings of the Editorial Board
In your application, please indicate your:
- Academic expertise, and experience of research and publishing in the field
- Editorial experience, ideally with an academic journal, and in the use of peer review systems such as ScholarOne
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work as part of a team
There are no location requirements attached to the position.
Please direct applications and any questions to Ned Wilson Eames, Publisher, Cambridge University Press at edward.wilson-eames@cambridge.org. Please use EPS Call for Senior Associate Editor as your email subject line.
