Abstract

Photolysis of methane in Titan's stratosphere is the starting point of gasphase carbon chemistry. Quantitative studies of methane photolytic products areof utmost importance for Titan atmosphere models. With this aim, twoexperimental strategies are presented in this article. Preliminary resultsdemonstrate the possibility of using CRDS absorption coupled with pulsedphotolysis on the example of a halogenated derivative of methane:Trichloromethane (CHCl3).
