A Computer-based Technique for Rapidly Screening Intercropping Designs

Summary

A computer technique for predicting the yields of the component crops in intercropping systems is described. Predictions using this procedure showed reasonable agreement with results obtained in an experiment using tomatoes and dry beans. Reasons for the discrepancies observed and limitations to the applications of the technique are discussed.
