I invite you to explore the articles and reviews in this issue of Iranian Studies. Encompassing art and architectural history, history, language and linguistics, diaspora studies, and the intersection of Shi‘i theocracy and political exigency, the nine articles in this issue exemplify the journal’s commitment to disciplinary and historical range.

I would like to express my gratitude to Beeta Baghoolizadeh, the associate editor for modern history, who will be completing her term of service at the end of the summer. She has provided me and the editorial board with invaluable support and guidance.

I am very pleased to welcome Sheragim Jenabzadeh, who will be joining us this fall as associate editor for modern history.

I also am delighted to report that Farshad Sonboldel, the deputy editor, will be offering a new round of the ten-week writing workshop for early career colleagues and graduate students interested in preparing research articles for publication in English-language journals.
