Extract

The aim of this short article is to produce a sequence of real numbers x1, x2, x3 , … with the property that, for each n,

x 1 + x 2 + … + xn = x 1 x 2 = xn .

This turns out to be an interesting classroom exercise involving simple equations and iteration.
