Mineral localities in north-western England were visited during the second excursion organized by the Society in recent years, from April 14 to 18, 1947, the headquarters being the George Hotel, Penrith. Taylor (London), E. A. Vincent (Durham), L. R. Wager (Durham), Miss D. E. Wisden (Southampton). Dr. Claringbull undertook the administrative arrangements.
