Abstract

The microstructures of as cast and air quenched Ti48Al48Cr2Nb2 alloys are analysed by transmission electron microscopy. Statistical analyses on the orientation variants and on the orientation relationships at the interfaces are presented. The results are used to have a better understanding on the formation mechanism of the lamellar microstructure.
