Abstract

The phylogenetic relationship between Epicoccum nigrum and Phoma epicoccina has been assessed by means of sequencing of the ITS regions of rDNA. The analysis of the sequences from five isolates of E. nigrum and four of P. epicoccina suggests that both entities represent the same biological species.
