We are looking for a Social Media Editor for our new Biophysics Twitter Account

Aim of the role
The aim of the Social Media Editor role is to increase engagement and awareness of the journal using social media. This will be achieved through the
Social Media Editor promoting a steady flow of articles, news, blog posts and sharing related content through the Biophysics Twitter account.
Objectives
- Promote content; blogs, industry news, editorial developments and updates from the journal
- Be a part of the research community and engage in conversations with authors and readersas well as actively follow and comment on other relevant social media accounts
- Strengthen brand recognition
- Increase author / reader base
- Engage with early researchers
Measuring Success
- At least 1 post a day / 5 a week
- Increase number of followers by 50% in first year
- Increase number of engagements (likes / comments / link clicks) by 50% in first year
Content Plan
It is important to ensure that we are publishing regular content that is informative, educational, engaging and entertaining. Aiming for an 80/20 split of content, 80% should focus on engaging and building the community (polls, questions, engaging quotes, blog posts, news stories, conferences) and 20% should be product focussed (article, issue, journal, submissions, downloads etc).
Content ideas can be found below:
- Recently published articles (First View, Accepted Manuscripts)
- New Issue Publications (Retweet from @CUP_lifescience)
- Supporting Publishing campaigns
- New product launches and features
- Graphics, cards, gifs, videos
- Questions and polls
- Monitor daily hashtags to spot opportunities to piggyback onto trending topics that can be general eg. #MotivationMonday #TuesdayThoughts #WednesdayWisdom or more specific to the subject area and field
- Retweet authors announcing publication of their articles in journal portfolio and other users commenting on articles
- Retweet relevant news and information from similar accounts
- Competitions / giveaways / free access to content
- Share an interesting statistic or quote from a recent blog post, news story or press release
- World and International promotion days
