Acknowledgements
In preparation for this volume, we held a three-day conference at the University of Göttingen on 14–16 July 2022. The conference was made possible by support from the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Ministry of Science and Culture, and the Universitätsbund Göttingen. The conference brought together moral and legal philosophers, historians of philosophy, as well as legal and political scientists who draw on or engage with Kant. While it is often the case that the history of (legal) philosophy and contemporary (legal) philosophy take place largely in isolated discourses, this book aims to bring them together in order to establish both the contemporary relevance of exegetical Kant research and the historical awareness of Kantian legal philosophy. We would like to thank the participants of the conference for contributing to insightful discussions. In particular, we would like to thank the people who fostered the discussion by serving as commentators to the papers presented at the conference: Çağlar Çömez, Luke Davies, Luigi Filieri, Micha Gläser, Michael Gregory, Daniel Häuser, Jakob Huber, Marie Newhouse, Daniel Ranweiler, Lara Scaglia, Katja Stoppenbrink, Fiorella Tomassini and Stephan Zimmermann. In addition, special thanks are due to Marlene von Daacke, Oskar Menke, Paul Schreiner, Eila Teizer and Laura Weimer for their help in preparing the manuscript, and in particular to Patrick Joseph Siegle, who coordinated the preparation of the manuscript and provided us with invaluable support at all times. Last but not least, we would like to express our special gratitude to Bernd Ludwig, who supported the project at all stages.
