To increase the service of the Powder Diffraction journal to its readers, ICDD decided in 2007 to publish an additional supplement issue of Powder Diffraction annually of representative articles presented at an XRD and related conference around the world.

In this 2013 supplement issue, we are pleased that ten representative papers from the 2021 Chinese National XRD Conference were selected, reviewed, and edited by Professor Xiao-Long Chen and members of the Chinese XRD Conference Committee for publication in this supplement issue.

The Powder Diffraction journal also wants to thank Nicole Boris and Carly Brad at the ICDD headquarters for making sure everything was in order and ready for the publication of this issue.
