Basil. informs us, that the Ethiopians were the descendants of Cush, and that all the people in Asia even in his time called that people Cushim. The language of the Ethiopians was a kindred dialect of the Hebrew, Chaldean, Arabian, Phœnician. See Walton's Prolegom. Gale's Court of the Gentiles, vol. I. lib. 1. cap. 11. p. 90. par. 12.
