There is an error on page 2. The text currently reads “Most of these studies operationalize performance in the first states by focusing on winning (x/22) or on overall vote share (y/22).” These values should have read (14/22) and (17/22), respectively. The corresponding footnote also contains incorrect counts and should have read “Five studies discuss vote share only, and two focus solely on who the winner is.”

Additionally, there are two errors in the reference list. Van de Rijt (Reference Van de Rijt2019) and Van de Rijt, Restivo and Patil (Reference Van de Rijt, Restivo and Patil2014) were erroneously listed as “de Rijt V, and A (Reference Van de Rijt2019)” and “de Rijt V, Arnout SMK, Restivo M and Patil A. (Reference Van de Rijt, Restivo and Patil2014)” The publisher apologises for this error.
