hums like the ocean where we picked seashells that July.
steady as a buoy out as the waves roll in and out.
like the soft beating of insects by the porch lamp.
buzzing like bumble bees around summer purple ceanothus.
whooshes not unlike sticking our heads out of the car in suburbia.
thrumming as your guitar as you guided my hands to play.
whishing not unlike breezes before evening storms.
bulging like tree roots finding its place to settle and elongate.
swelling to rise as knowing as heat off tarry roads in saturated summer.
pulsating as certain as your heartbeat next to mine.
