Summary

Account roll of Thomas of Stapleford, clerk of the king's works at the palace of Westminster and the Tower of London, for his receipts from the Exchequer for expenditure on building works within the palace and the Tower.

Physical description: A roll of one membrane; stained and slightly torn down the left-hand margin, but otherwise in good condition, and wholly legible with the aid of an ultraviolet lamp.

Scope of transcription: The first entry, recording only one livery in Easter term 1354, has been transcribed in full, but thereafter only the total amounts received in each Exchequer term (Michaelmas 1354 and Easter 1355) and the sum total at the end, have been included
