Summary

Particulars of account of Walter of Weston, the king's clerk of works at the palace of Westminster and the Tower of London, for his expenditure on building works at Westminster in Exchequer year 15 Edward III, with entries spanning the period between 24 Oct. 1340 and 27 May 1341.

Physical description: A roll of five membranes, sewn end-to-end; although m. 1 is soiled, it is wholly legible, and the rest of the roll is in good condition. Additional headings on mm. 1d and 5d, acting as labels; marked as enrolled.

Scope of transcription: Entries relating to the chapel of St Stephen by the Receipt, St Stephen's chapel, the tracing house of the master mason, the masons’ lodge and the office of the clerk of works.
