Testamentum Johannis Emond [19 May 1429]

[I]n testamento Johannis Emond continetur ut infra: In dei nomine Amen. Decimo nono die mensis Maij anno domini millesimo quadringentesimo vicesimo nono & anno regni regis Henrici sexti post conquestum septimo, ego, Johannes Emond, civis & aurifaber London’, sanus mente & in bona memoria existens, condo, facio, & ordino hoc presens testamentum meum in hunc modum: In primis, lego & recommendo animam meam deo omnipotenti creatori meo, beateque Marie matri ejus, corpusque meum sepeliendum infra corpus ecclesie parochialis Sancti Vedasti in Fasterlane London’ prope fontem erga magnum hostium ejusdem ecclesie. Item, lego summo altari dicte ecclesie pro decimis meis oblitis iij s. iiij d. Item, do & lego executoribus meis subscriptis totum statum quem habeo in uno tenemento cum shopa adjacente & suis pertinenciis in Westechape [sic] in parochia Sancti Mathei in Fridaystrete London’ quod nuper habui ex dimissione & confirmacione Johannis Bulstrode, filii & heredis Johannis Bulstrode nuper civis & aurifabri London’, ad vendend’ cicius quo poterint post obitum meum meliori modo quo poterint aut sciverint. Et pecuniam de hujusmodi vendicione perceptam lego ad distribuend’ per eosdem executores meos pro anima mea, anima patris mei & animabus omnium fidelium defunctorum in missis celebrandis & aliis operibus caritativis faciend’ prout eis melius videbitur placere Deo & saluti anime mee proficere.
