About the series
Elements in Arctic and Antarctic Studies is an important new series concerned with human dimensions of the Earth’s polar regions: their history, politics, culture, and more. The ends of the Earth include homelands for Indigenous communities, sites for science and environmental management, and – increasingly – places of social and ecological change. Covering the full breadth of the humanities and the social sciences and authored by leading scholars, the series integrates the latest research and ideas into accessible volumes that inform students and experts alike about the important issues in the polar regions today. As challenges from global heating, ongoing colonialism and international political tensions change both lives and livelihoods, Elements in Arctic and Antarctic Studies offers timely and important interventions that serve as both concise reference works and prompts for critical reflection.
