About the Editors
Michael L. Peterson is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Asbury Theological Seminary. He is the author of Monotheism, Suffering, and Evil (Cambridge University Press); God and Evil: An Introduction to the Issues (Routledge); C. S. Lewis and the Christian Worldview (Oxford); Evil and the Christian God (Baker).He is lead author of Reason and Religious Belief (Oxford University Press; 5 editions) and lead editor of Philosophy of Religion: Selected Readings (Oxford, 5 editions). He is coauthor with Michael Ruse of Science, Evolution, and Religion: A Debate about Atheism and Theism (Oxford); and with Dennis Venema of Biology, Religion, and Philosophy: An Introduction (Cambridge). He is editor of The Problem of Evil: Selected Readings (Notre Dame). He is coeditor of Philosophy of Religion: Selected Readings and Contemporary Debates in Philosophy of Religion (Blackwell). He was founding Managing Editor of the academic journal Faith and Philosophy.
Joel Archer is Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Theology at Asbury Theological Seminary with specialties in philosophy, religion, and New Testament. He has n M.A. in Early Christian Studies (University of Notre Dame), a Ph.D. in Philosophy (Saint Louis University), and a PH.D. in Religion (Duke University, expected in 2026). He is the author of The Problem of Divine Action in the World (Cambridge University Press) and has published in academic journals such as Philosophical Studies, Religious Studies, Philosophia Christi, Journal of the Study of the Historical Jesus, Journal for the Study of the New Testament, and New Testament Studies. He has made numerous presentations at professional organizations.
