J.-C. Spender is a visiting scholar at Rutgers Business School and a research Professor, Kozminski University. He has been active in the business strategy field since 1971 and is the author or co-author of 7 books and numerous papers.  His previous work includes nuclear engineering for Rolls-Royce, computing for IBM, industrial banking, and involvement in several hi-tech start-ups.  His principal academic interest is in knowledge-based theories of the private sector firm, and managing them.  He has an allied interest in the history of management education and of business schools.
