sources: The Nov. 1903 contract of Lockwood's is in Acc. 140, Bx. 5, as are his Nov. 1906 and Dec. 1907 contracts. The Dec. 1907 contract was to last until Dec. 31, 1908. No further contract seems to exist. Ford Times III, June 1, 1910, 372, notes the appointment of H. B. Harper to take charge of the foreign department, succeeding R. M. Lockwood. Ibid., V, Feb. 1911, 179, announces A. C. Vanderpoel will follow H. B. Harper. (Payroll records, Ford Archives, show Harper in charge of the foreign office June 1, 1910 to Feb. 1, 1911.) When in Feb. 1913 Roberge joined the company, Ellis Hampton was head of the foreign department (see Roberge, Reminiscences). Roberge notes the short duration of Hampton's being head of the department. In the account books in the Archives for the year ending Sept. 30, 1913, Eber Sherman is listed among the branch managers; from the size of his bonus, it is obvious that he had not been in that position long. Liebold to Sorensen, July 30, 1918, #34086 Ferg-M., indicates that Eber Sherman will be handling Latin American distribution of the Fordson tractor from Aug. 1, 1918. In the contract between Ford Motor Company and Charles McEnearney, in files of Charles McEnearney & Co., Trinidad, R. S. Neely signs as Ford-US foreign department manager (Mar. 18, 1919). […]
