This appendix presents additional materials for the cross-national time series quantitative analyses in Chapter 4.
First, Table A.1 presents alternative versions of the two models from the legislative elections analysis, which are part of the sensitivity analysis reported in the main text. These models use a different measure of territorial gain.
Second, Table A.2 presents the cases for the presidential elections analysis. Tables A.3 and A.4 collectively present five additional models for the presidential elections analysis, which are part of the sensitivity analysis reported in the main text. Finally, Figures A.1–A.4 present quantities derived from the fourth and fifth of these models: the estimated marginal and conditional effects of ethnic heterogeneity.
