The primary purpose of this handbook is to explain the General Agreement on Trade in Services to an interested person with little or no knowledge of the agreement. However, with its detailed content, it can also serve as a useful guide for experienced practitioners working in various services sectors. Special thanks are addressed to those in the Trade in Services Division and in the Information and Media Relations Division who have assisted in researching, drafting and editing this publication.
